This semi-bungalow dates from the 1970s and stands on the site formerly occupied by Nutshell Cottages seen in the photograph below.

The property was the subject of a planning application made in 1972 when Mrs Bryan Pugh sought permission for the construction of a double garage and the making of alterations to the cottages to bring them up to modern standards. Although approval was given, the planning consent had not been acted upon when in 1973 Mr Pugh made a new application. He sought, and was granted, permission to demolish the cottages entirely and replace them with the bungalow which we see today. The reason for the change of plan is not known but it may be that the cost of renovating the cottages proved disproportionate to their value and/or usefulness. Sadly, Mr Pugh (who had been resident hitherto in Lamb Cottage) did not live long to enjoy his new home for he died in 1975.
