- Wild About Gardening covers just about every thing you wanted. People can subscribe to a free monthly news letter
- The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust web site contains more advice on building animal homes, etc.
- The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. Despite its layout this is not just for kids. It includes sketches of the top 15 birds most likely to be seen in a garden and help with their identification. Consider using a digital camera to take photos of birds to identify them later using this site - or by asking one of the Hampsthwaite Wild Things.
- The British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) Garden Bird Watch. This is the all year round bid watching site - and you get a free book for joining.
